Being a business management student, my mind always kept thinking about how can one be better among the thousands of thousands of individuals sailing in the same sea. The competition was stiff, and I needed to have an edge. And as everybody usually does I also turned to YouTube, hoping to get tips and tricks to get my skin in the game. Suddenly I stumbled upon this very interesting Ted talk given by Mr. Sameer Dhanrajani on “Analytics, AI and Vision” and his first line
human beings are predictabily irrational
took me by surprise that I had to listen to the whole talk. He totally justified what he said and also explained what will revolutionize the decision-making process which is a key aspect of any business. And the answer was AI.
Although being a technology-loving person myself, I still thought what major role did AI had to play in marketing decisions. But Mr. Dhanrajani totally changed my notion.
In his talk, he tells that data is the new oil and digital the new currency, but he also pointed out data is inherently dumb. What we make out of the data is really important for the day to day business decisions we make.
We are witnessing a whole reimagination of customer experience. It’s more detailed and should suit the customer liking. And to address all these varied experiences we need something that can help go through the huge pile of data and help us make sense of it. And the only way it is possible is by AI and Analytics. And this coming from a man of such rich industry experience makes it all very convincing. Going through his session in MIT ID Innovation Programme will give you more clarity.
