Shreya Ghoshal started her musicall journey in the age of four she started learning music from her mother. From the age of six she started with her formal training in classical music. She acquired training from Late Kalyanji Bhai for 18 months and continued her classical music training with Late Mukta Bhide in Mumbai.
Her first award showcased in the age of six. In 1995, she won the All India Light Vocal Music Competition, New Delhi, organised by Sangam Kala Group, in Light Vocal group in sub-junior level. At the age of sixteen she won the television music reality show named sa re ga ma by zeetv.
With this she recognized by the bollywood famous film director Sanjay Leela Bansali , she got the opportunity to sing in the film Devdas and she also been the voice of Paro character played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
For the Devdas movie she won her first Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for “Dola Re”. After this she won many awards for her singing. She has received four National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, seven Filmfare Awards including six for Best Female Playback Singer and nine Filmfare Awards South.

In 2010 she recorded a album “Hath se Hath Milaa”, profits earned by this album donated to HIV Charities
In 2013 at swami vivekananda international convention center in Pallies, she paid that to the casualities of an heavy rainfall in Mauritius
In 2016, Ghoshal performed a charity event to support a 17 years old patient of Acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
