In 2014 Kailash Satyarthi was awarded Nobel Prize for peace from India along with Malala Yousafzai. Kailash Satyarthi was born in the Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh in India. He completed an electrical engineering degree, and he worked as a teacher in electrical engineering and In 1980, he dropped teaching and founded the organization Bachpan Bachao Andolan, which has now freed thousands of children from slave-like conditions.
Kailash always felt very strongly that all children are born equal and therefore have the right to lead a good life.
Today Kailash Satyarthi has freed over 83,000 children from slavery and child labour across the world.
He started a movement which sent a powerful international message against child labour. in 1998, it started with an 80,000 km long physical march across 103 countries. Members from over 140 different countries participated in the march. 177 of 185 member countries of the International Labour Organisation have ratified a convention against child labour.
Kailash Satyarthi is working even today for the benefits of children’s and to give the best future for the underprivileged children’s across the world and no doubt today the amount of child labour has decreased because of him.
