  1. 1 Fathers died at early age

    His father died when he was 9, R. K. Shekhar, was a film-score composer and conductor for Tamil and Malayalam films; Rahman assisted his father in the studio, playing the keyboard.

  2. 2 Start working at early age

    Due to his father's death, AR Rahmanhas started working at the age of 11, due to which he was unable to focus on his academics.  

  3. 3 Founded new Rock-Band

    He dropped from his college after discussing with his mother that he wants to peruse a career full-time musician and founded the Chennai-based rock group Nemesis Avenue with his school friends.

  4. 4 Completed Graduation from London

    He began working with other composers, such as M. S. Viswanathan, Ramesh Naidu, and Raj-Koti, and accompanied Zakir Hussain, Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan and L. Shankar on world tours and obtained a scholarship from Trinity College London to the Trinity College of Music 

  5. 5 First Award

    AR Rahman's film-scoring career began during the early 1990s with the Tamil film Roja. The soundtrack of the film became popular upon release, which led to him winning the National Film Award for Best Music Direction at the 41st National Film Awards, the first time for a debutant.

  6. 6 Recieve Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan

    He has been awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, in 2000 and with the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award, in 2010 by the Government of India

  7. 7 Biggest Achivement Every in life of AR Rahman

    In 2008, he won two Academy(Oscar) Award, for Best Original Song “Jai Ho” and Best Original Score for movie Slumdog Millionaire. This entirely changed the life of AR Rahman and him famous all over the world. After that, he was also nominated for Academy award in the same year for movie 127 Hours and became the first Asian to get nominated two times in same year.
